Otto's German Shepherds is a
family owned business with the personal touch not offered at most
kennels. We started several years ago buying our first female to start
our business. Before entering into the business
we
spent years researching the different bloodlines of German Shepherd dogs. Working with
different police departments assisted us in our search for the quality of German Shepherds
we wanted to breed. Throughout
the years of owning and working with German Shepherds we have been
around both the
German bloodlines and the American bloodlines. In our experience the American lines do not
have the same qualifications offered by the German lines. The German
lines are required to
pass certain testing just to make them breed ready. The testing each dog
must pass to even qualify for breeding is impressive. Understanding the
breeding requirements
of the German Shepherds out of Germany.
Tia met her husband
Dan at the Sheriff's Office. Dan and Tia have both worked
at the Sheriff's Office for over 10 years. Dan is a Patrol
Sergeant and Tia is a Deputy Sheriff. They have worked with
several police agencies during K-9 operations. Because of their line of
work Dan and Tia had to find a German Shepherd that could deal with any
situation. One problem they had in some of the American lines is the
fear of loud noises. The West German Shepherds are required to pass a
courage test before
they can be titled. To read about the courage test and other
testing requirements go to
German titles and ratings.

Another character in a German Shepherd they were
looking for is the best in
tracking and bite
work. The last quality that
was important to them was conformation. While
searching they found the quality they were looking for
through the West German Shepherd bloodlines. The German Shepherds they
own and breed to, parents and grandparents, are World Sieger Champions out of
West Germany. To hold a World Sieger title
the German Shepherd is required to be the best in all categories.

Our goal is give the buyers
the personal touch of a small kennel and to offer personal
protection and an excellent family companion.

Our kennel is located in Rockwall Texas 30
miles east of Dallas, Texas. We own seven acres with horses, geese,
ducks and chickens. We usually have one or two colts born a
year. Our dogs have plenty of places to run and exercise.
