She is super smart, obedience training is complete, and she is 5 months and 3 weeks old, 50 pounds and 24 inches at the withers aka shoulders! She is the most amazing dog, and gorgeous! She gets complements all the time on her color and form. she is a very secure, confident girl and we love her like a child. She is super spoiled and prefers to sleep in our bed with us, good thing its a cal king... She is kennel trained and loves her kennel. although now we are starting to leave her out while we are gone, and she is doing good.

She isn't my little puppy anymore, although still only 5 months old, she is 51 pounds and 24 inches tall at the withers aka shoulders... And SUPER smart and very obedient and well leashed trained! When people see her, they are impressed how well she does on a leash and listens to commands and shocked when they find out she is just 5 months. She is huge!!

Just wanted to give you an update on Royal. Can’t believe he’ll be 9 months on 11/13! He is growing so fast (about 75 lbs.) and is a beautiful dog. I’ve attached some recent pictures of him so you can see him. We think he looks like Bailey but as he gets older he sometimes looks like Mason. Royal is a fantastic dog and learns everything amazingly fast and has the best personality. He’s very sweet, playful, fun and we have never seen him be aggressive. In fact I don’t think we’ve ever heard him growl. He’ll do his “big boy” bark to let us know someone is the door or if he sees a squirrel or something outside but immediately settles down once we okay everything. Loves people and other dogs and cannot get enough of our friends kids/babies.I also wanted to let you know that we enrolled Royal in a training with a wonderful trainer in Cleburne, TX who has a lot of knowledge about the GSD breed. We wanted some help with Royal’s basic obedience (leash pulling, recall commands, etc.) so we found Top Class K-9 in Cleburne and Sylvie the head trainer there is wonderful. She has several times told us just how lucky we are to have a dog like Royal. She says he is beautiful dog with lots of potential and that his temperament is outstanding for a GSD. She told us everyone loves him and that in fact several people have asked where we got him from. She wanted to be able to tell them so when people asked for recommendations on good quality GSDs with exceptional temperaments she could point them your way. I gave her your name and contact info so you might be getting a few inquiries about your GSD pups. Just wanted
to give you a heads up and let you know how special your pups are (which you of course already knew)! We can’t thank you enough for Royal and we know your love for the breed and your dogs is what makes your pups so special. Hope everything is going well.

Rebekka was a star puppy at training lessons. She will be going back in a few weeks to start the next course. She is super smart and has done well with our boys who are 7 & 4. She has learned to ring a bell when she needs to go outside to go potty. (she had this trick down in 4 days). The boys are able to walk her and she has even convinced our older dog that she is able to play again. She is growing so fast and has already lost her puppy fur. She is doing well with socialization (we take her to a local dog park and is learning to meet and greet well!)

We will definitely be coming back again for another puppy at some point!

She has not liked our pool at all. It is really funny to put her on the sun deck and she jumps right out! I gave her a bath yesterday and had to be in the tub with her. I know you must still be so sad over the loss of Mason so I thought I'd send you an update on Royal to help cheer you up. He went to his second vet appt. today for some shots and check-up and he weights 23lbs! He is growing so fast and his paws are gigantic! That is what everyone notices right away. His left ear is up but crooked and his right is slowly starting to pop up. He looks so off balance with his crooked ears but he is hilarious. He has quite the personality too. Always getting into something and his favorite pastime right now is eating rocks and sticks. But he is so clever and he already knows sit and can actually manage to stay for few seconds. He's growing more confident everyday and he's already met quite a few dogs. Pretty soon he'll be bigger than all of them.

I just wanted to also say thank you so much again for everything. Royal is already so much a part of our family and we have you and Dan to thank for that. I can't imagine how sad you must be over Mason but I hope it comforts you to know his pups have brought many smiles and happiness to numerous families including ours!Attached are a couple of pictures so you can see how big he's gotten (and how he already loves to hang out with all our friends) and I promise to send pictures soon (we lost our camera cord to hook up to the computer) so you can compare Royal to his brother. Guido (Scooby Doo) - 2008 Mason and Bailey Pup

Dear Tia and family,

We are still overwhelmed by the passing of Mason recently. Mason was the father of our male pup, Guido (aka Scooby Doo) who was born of Bailey and Mason on August 31st, 2008.

Scooby is our fifth German Shepherd that we have raised. Scooby has immense natural and intuitive abilities that we sometimes wonder if he was a human in his past life. His patience and loyalty are by far the best of all our past shepherds. He will sit for hours and watch intently and study what one of us is doing investigating the end result and getting into playful mischief. Scooby’s appearance is very much like Mason and when we recently viewed his photo on your website, it was like looking at Scooby Doo.

It is a family tragedy when a pet is lost. The day Scooby Doo arrived our then German Shepherd, Mickey, expired hours before Scooby Doo landed from Dallas. We were looking forward to some quality time between the both of them. We are deeply saddened by your family’s loss and know that Mason is irreplaceable. Mason lives on in all the pups he bred and is giving everyone a sense of enjoyment and love from those pups to their masters.

Our family is privileged to have had you and Mason touch our lives through Scooby Doo. His playful mischief is exhibited through his bright and caring eyes and is definitely an honorable descendent of Mason and Bailey.

The memories of the good times are what keep our pets constantly in our minds. We wish that Mason will keep you and your family alive with those memories of his cherished life with you.

Just a quick update on Hunter & Lehre... they are doing GREAT! They are getting along, playing together, he is completely recovered from being neutered.

We are just so happy with our dogs!! They are both so much fun. I doubt we ever, ever have just one again. It's wonderful having two. They keep each other company. It's tons of fun for us to watch them interact - with each other & with us. Hunter gets jealous when we pet Lehre - & vice versa - Lehre gets jealous too - it's soooo funny to watch.

Jazzmin is still the queen though. The other day she took Hunter's bone away from him... drug it into the house... hid under the coffee table with it. When Hunter came looking for it she gave him a little growl, put her paw on the bone & he absolutely laid down in front of her & just pouted!!! Who would have thought that such a big, fine looking male German Shepherd could be controlled by an 8 pound Chorkie! HA!!!

Have been meaning to get some new pictures sent for quite a while! Can't ever find the time.....The first 3 shots are from December & the rest were taken in April.

Dan & Jaxon have complete several months of "school" with a good trainer in Lawton, OK. I think they both enjoyed it, even though they went through a lot of cold weather doing it!

Jaxon is a great dog! He is ornery at times, but is mostly a big teddy bear. (Unless someone comes up to the fence that he doesn't know!)

Sometimes it is hard to remember that he is still a puppy because he is so big! Dan had him weighed at the vet about a month ago & he was 95 lbs. (8 months old)

Hason's huge now. He's nearing 70 lbs already. The vets can't believe how big he's gotten within such a short amount of time and neither can we. He's expected to get well over a hundred pounds! Hason gets visibly bigger each day. He's such a little angel in the house (except he likes to chew on our walls). Him and JJ are inseparable now and they're just adorable with each other.

Good morning Tia, First, let me just say that you and your family have been in our prayers. I can't imagine what you have been thru the past few months. Hopefully it helps you just to know how many people are praying for you & thinking of you. I am sure things will get better for you & you will be comforted. I did want to send you this one picture of Lehre @ 5 months old - she weighs right at 50 pounds!!! She is doing GREAT! She will graduate from puppy class this weekend. She is the STAR of class. Training is easy & she learns so quickly. Her temperament is wonderful. She has been so great with Jordan & Hannah this summer. They lay all over her, play with her, chase her, do whatever with her & she is just so patient with them. We are so happy to have her. If I had to say one thing about Lehre that I am most pleased about it would have to be her temperament. She never growls or barks or shows any sign of aggression when she shouldn't. Of course she will bark when someone rings the doorbell etc... but that is what we wanted. She is the BEST family pet. I believe that comes straight from you & your breeding. I am certain that we will be wanting another puppy someday & hopefully you will still be there for us. We never go anywhere with Lehre that people don't comment on her beauty!! It's going to be hard for us to have her spayed next month. We would truly love to allow her to have even just one set of puppies, but we know we are not ?educated? enough to even know what to do or how to do it. Plus, we would want to keep all the puppies! Thank you so much for the spending the "unexpected" time with Jay and I while we were down in Texas! Who knew we could time it with Daffi delivering?!! You were so gracious and a blast to talk to in spite of the stress!!

Your dogs are gorgeous and have beautiful temperaments. The environment for the puppies is perfect! It is obvious that they having loving care and are in expert hands. They can't have a better start than that. You make me proud of our breed again after watching too much AKC...mistake on my part!! I think you hold the key to keeping German Shepherds true to their heritage.

I hope Daffi's puppies are doing well...even the "runt". Guess they are 3 weeks old now?..hard to believe!

Good morning Kim,

Please do not be anxious about your puppy from Tia & Dan. They are the greatest people we have ever met. A little bit of history about our search for a dog. Late January we along with our daughter and son-in-law went to Sherman, TX to see some dogs & puppies from one of the breeders listed on the web. We were very disappointed. Yes, they had many dogs as well as one set of puppies 8 wks old. They were raised in a kennel and had very little contact with people other than being fed and watered. They were very, very expensive!!!

As we continued our search, our daughter, who lives in Norman, OK., told us about the Otto breeders. Since we are only about 2 hrs. away and we were going to Dallas anyway, we decided to stop by and check them out. OH MY, what a difference!!! Not only are the people the sweetest and nicest you will ever meet, the dogs are all great. We met Mason, the Father of our puppies and Tara the Mother. Also, all of the other dogs. We have been back several times. There are always at least 4 dogs in the house not including all those puppies. The house is always so very clean and to our surprise does not smell like dogs. After our initial visit we called our daughter and made arrangements to meet them after the puppies were born on Feb. 10. They were two weeks old. We have been for a visit every two weeks since.

Those puppies were born in the house, in one of the bedrooms. They have stayed in the house ever since. Our group of puppies were moved to the living room when Daffi had her litter. Tia and Dan love those puppies every day. I just cannot say enough about the GREAT care they are getting. You are going to be so happy with Heidi. These dogs are going to be the smartest, most gentle, loving dog you will ever have. We've had GS's before and never have we had one this great.

Sorry about writing a novel, I just cannot say enough about these puppies. I have held your puppy along with the others and they are all just wonderful. You are going to be so happy. We just feel blessed to have met the Otto's and privileged to have one of the puppies.

We can hardly wait. If you would like to have some more pictures besides the ones on the web site, just let me know. Also, if I can answer any questions I'll be happy to try. Just be assured you are getting a top notch puppy from the best breeder possible

Hi Tia,

Thank you, so much, for our 50 pound bundle of joy, "FATU"!!! He truly made Christmas, this year, for our entire family. My two sons and I were the force behind the initial search for our new family member, but my husband was dragging his feet all the way. He had all of the excuses, our 7 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback is too old to bring in a new puppy...our 17 month old foster baby will be overwhelmed with a puppy...the hair will be a pain, compared to our Ridgeback. Well, he was only right on the last excuse (Ridgeback's are almost hairless). Our Ridgeback, Deja, loves Fatu and is getting more playtime/exercise than she's ever had in her whole life. She's actually become extremely more tolerant of our 17 month old, with Fatu's influence, which is an unexpected and welcomed change. She's now acting like a puppy herself. And our 17 month old baby treats both of the dogs like her siblings and loves every minute of it. Fatu is amazingly gentle with her and, in turn, treats her like a litter mate. And last, but not least, there's my husband... who now believes Fatu is what every German Shepherd Dog should be. He has frequently pointed out how great Fatu has been for both Deja and the baby. Of course, my sons and I have pointed out how wrong he was...we just love the opportunity to say "We told you so!"...and he's so happy with Fatu that he doesn't mind being wrong. Amazing. We all love him and he, too, appears to love his new home.

Additionally, I'd also like to thank you for your professionalism, honesty, kindness and efficient handling during the whole process of bringing Fatu to our home. You obviously know what you're doing! This breed is lucky to have you on their side.

I have one I will attach with this but it really does not show him, the length of his body, that well. I had taken him to the family farm and he had been running around and got tired. I caught him getting ready to nap behind a fern. Anyway....

Patriot is doing wonderful. I have never known of a dog to catch on as fast as he has. He is responding to several German commands, is pretty much already housebroken and most importantly is getting along great with my daughter and full grown Lab. Our entire family has fallen in love with him. He has proven to be a great family companion and I anticipate he will be the protector we sought to find. We are extremely grateful that he was taken care of so well before he was with us. It is obvious you love these little guys and give them your all. The time you dedicate to them before they are turned over to the new owner really does make the difference. We will be forever grateful for this little guy.

We are very happy with him, Tia. He's just a joy. I come home for lunch everyday to let him out and he can be so sweet. It seems to be a sleepy time for him and we sit in the sun outside and dose.

He's doing really well. He seemed to adjust to his new home in just a couple of days. He has the sweetest, funniest personality! We all really enjoy him and he's very smart (I'm sure you already know that!). If his water bowl gets low he will just pick it up and bring it to us! He's also decided he likes my cat! I think he just didn't know what she was when he first arrived and would see her running down the hall and he would bark (really BIG) at her and scare the lights out of her! But it didn't take a lot to make him understand that she belonged with us, too, and that he shouldn't bark and scare her. Just tonight, she was sitting on a shelf and he walked over and they smelled noses and his tail was just wagging away. So they're becoming friends. I took a picture of him with Gerald this past weekend with the thought of sending it to you, but I'm really not very good with that kind of stuff so I'll get him to send it to you. It was good hearing from you. We'll keep in touch and also, I would like to write something on the website if you would send me directions on how to do that. P.S. When we took him to the vet for his well-puppy visit he was very impressed with him and his personality. He was Soooooo wound up . . . he actually fell asleep on the examining table!! He's a hoot. AND we did change his name to Gus but he took to that in about a week. Thanks again and hope you are recovering well from your surgery.

This e-mail is long over due and I apologize. I wanted to let you know again how much we enjoy our dog, Cooper. He has been a wonderful addition to our family. My Husband not only has a new best friend (who travels EVERYWHERE with him), but I have a new buddy who also protects us when my Husband is away. The Children adore him and he is very gentle and concerned for their well being. Even when our toddler stumbles, he runs to her and gives her a kiss on the cheek when he knows she is ok. He is also very patient and gentle with all the kids. We simply love him and have become extremely attached to him.

On top of being a wonderful companion, he has impressed us tremendously with his intelligence. We are amazed how fast he picks up tricks and skills. He loves to be challenged and we can tell he will continue to grow in this area.

We couldn't ask for a better dog. He has surpassed all of our expectations!

We just got back from the Vet's office and I am glad to report Indie is well and in fine physical condition. Dr Aceveda examined her and said her hips "feel fine". He weighed her and she is 8 1/2 pounds this morning. Heart sounds good. We did take a stool sample in and it was negative. She's a little sensitive about having her ears examined. Perhaps her ear is still tender from the tatoo. Dr recommended we gently work with her so that as she grows it won't be so difficult to touch and look into her ears. This makes sense. I would assume massaging her head around her ears and looking inside, feeling them and alking to her should take away some of her apprehension. Any suggestions?

She is eating/drinking fine and has been active. We are crate training her and having pretty good success. We put her into her crate at night and take her out to pottie about every 2 hours. She cries a little at first but seems to be getting the routine down. She cries at about 2 hours giving me the signal she's ready for a break. She goes on comand when I take her out. Very few accidents. Short term pain for long term gain! She sleeps in our bedroom.

She and our Westie are doing well together and the Westie is helping teach her. I think she is settling in nicely and bonding perfectly with us. She has a ton of personality and character and it will be pleasure to train her and to see her grow. I will send pictures of her along the way. Needless to say we are very pleased with her and with your services. Thank you again for the quality and care.

Kathy is making a copy of the sales contract now and I'l pop the signed original in the mail pronto. Have a great weekend and feel free to email anytime to check in wih us and Indie.

PS. The website you set up for Chloe is REALLY nice. It was good to see some pictures of her when she was much younger! She was pretty big for her age even back then wasn’t she. I think she is going to be a big dog. By the way… she absolutely LOVES the water (and water hose)! I had 2 other german shepherds in the past years that loved water A LOT, but I think Chloe beats them both. (which I didn’t think was possible). She can chase the water for as long as you will stand there and spray it. I give out before she does!

About one year ago I received a very bright, intelligent and settled pup from Tia and Dan. Breta was one of their pups and her early training and socialization really paid huge dividends.
